Miley Cyrus: Engaged at 19

Congratulations to Miley Cyrus on her engagement to Hunger Games star, Liam Hemsworth!

Even though I am not a big fan of her work, I do appreciate her standing up against the media and how she is constantly changing her image. People do want her to be a good girl and not a regular teenager. They want the stars of the Disney Channel to be their children's role model.

That's why there is controversy over her engagement at nineteen years old to a twenty-two year old man. People think she is too young.

I read on numerous websites that repeatedly said "nineteen is too young".

Just because you get engaged doesn't mean that matrimony will happen in three months. I know couples who were engaged for five years!

Love has no age limit. If they want to spend the rest of their lives together starting now, let them! I heard they have a crazy relationship but who doesn't? Show me the perfect couple and I bet one of them has a dirty little secret.

Another reason is that people think this will be bad for teenagers and her young fans. They might think that marriage at this age is okay. It is okay! It's legal! If your nineteen year old daughter found someone that she truly loves and wants to start her life with, you can tell her to explore her options, but don't bring statistics and other people's situations into it.

If she wants to be a teen mom, then you lock that girl in her room till she is thirty.

Being devil's advocate, this could be seen as a Romeo & Juliet situation. I believe that Juliet was Romeo's rebound and Juliet was a young girl who finally got some attention from the opposite sex. Liam was in a six year relationship before he met Miley Cyrus. And yes Miley had other beaus but Liam is the sexiest so they don't really count haha.

Personally, I don't believe in commitment under twenty-five but that is my personal feeling that shouldn't be applied to anyone else.

I wish them luck and a lot less drama!
