I love Mary J. Blige. I grew up on her music and I sing her songs in the mirror with my hairbrush. It's sad for me to even write this post but it's been bothering me for awhile.
The first moment I realized her career might be on a sinking ship, is when I was cleaning my room listening to Pandora. A song came on with her and Rick Ross from her newest album.
Now I hate Rick Ross (will explain later) and Rick Ross and Mary J. Blige have no business being on an song together. That's when I saw her album track list and saw that she had a song with Lil' Wayne?
WHAT?!?!
Is Mary doing songs with popular rap artist to keep her name relevant? That's a sign of a sinking career.
Don't get me wrong My Life II…The Journey is a good album. It's heartfelt, her voice is great but I did find myself skipping some songs and that's rare for a Mary album.
Plus, the album sales weren't that great....
But, what if it isn't Mary's fault? Maybe her management is slacking?
You know where I'm going to go with this...
Nope, I'm still not over that. Whoever advised her to do that commercial has to be fired.
Plus, did you know that her charity has serious money issues?
As a Mary fan, I hope that she recovers. She is the film Rock of Ages and in the Nina Simone biopic.
